The Gainesville
Radiology Group has served the Gainesville community for many years. GRG
is the oldest radiology group in the community and dates to 1902, when Dr.
J. Maxey Dell, Sr., entered practice in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. J. Maxey Dell, Sr., performed x-ray work in Gainesville until 1932 when his son, Dr. J. Maxey, Jr., returned to Gainesville following his medical education from Emory University School of Medicine. From 1932 until 1951, Dr. J. Maxey Dell, Jr., practiced alone in Gainesville, performing all of the radiological services, both at his private office and at Alachua General Hospital. With the increasing demand for radiological services came the need for additional radiologists. Currently, the Gainesville Radiology Group is comprised of five radiologists. These radiologists are all diplomats of the American Board of Radiology. |
